BAY-CASH on Morning Edition!

BAY-CASH Was Featured on NPR’s Morning Edition

Wednesday morning, we sat down with Craig LeMoult from GBH to talk about BAY-CASH. Craig’s team took 30 minutes of content and brilliantly produced a 7-minute feature that aired yesterday on NPR’s Morning Edition.

We are grateful to Craig and his fantastic crew for welcoming us to their studio and sharing our story. As a demonstration project, we recognize that achieving our goal of statewide policy change requires the education and support of our community. The segment on NPR represents an important piece of our overall strategy to shift culture and make lasting change.

Please listen and share widely!

A note on Deandre’s participation: We did not take the decision to include a program participant lightly. After several conversations with our Lived Experience Crew and Launch Team partners, we generally agreed that a) our participants should be given the choice to talk to the media, and b) that the choice must be authentic so they don't feel pressured and are protected from unintended consequences. Purely by coincidence, Deandre was enrolled in BAY-CASH last week. I have a long-standing trusting relationship with him, and he has years of experience speaking with the public about homelessness. The two of us talked for an hour before agreeing to participate, and Craig’s team was wonderful about meeting our various needs. We hope that you are as proud of Deandre as we are and understand that he is speaking from a position of profound expertise in the challenges and solutions of youth and young adult homelessness. Thank you!

In partnership,

Matt and the BAY-CASH Project Team
